Another Day at the Playground

If you haven't noticed, we spend lots of time at playgrounds. There are tons of really fabulous playgrounds around Temple, and we try to make our rounds at least a couple of times a week. This one was new for us, and it is great! It is for the bigger kids, and it is huge! There is a three story slide that Hayden loves! Plus a climbing wall and a duck pond with cute cartoon-like ducks! We are definitely going to hit this one again soon!

Goin' for a Gator Ride

I can't believe I have not posted any photos of Hayden's new wheels..he loves riding his gator he got for Christmas. He is such a good driver, except he likes to drive off and leave me (you have to jog to keep up, and I am so not there right now!). Anyway, he throws it into gear like a champ, and parks it in the garage better than I could (Seriously, there is like a 3 foot space to drive in, and he whips in there without hitting anything!!). Sometimes, I forget he's only 3. Then, he runs into the neighbor's garbage can, or does a Luke Duke off of the curb, and I'm reminded.

Tom's Valentines Day Cookie

For a little pre-Valentine's Day celebration (Tom was on call on V-day), Hayden and I made him a giant heart-shaped cookie with chocolate icing. Only, as Hayden was "helping" me put it on the platter, it fell apart. He wailed hysterically, so I smooshed it back together into a circle, glopped tons of icing on it, and here is the end result. It tasted fabulous!

My Little Helper

So, Hayden has been a potty champ for about a month now. No accidents, he takes off his own pants, gets on his little step stool, and flushes when he is through (he forgets to put his pants back on, but we are working on that). So when he came to me in the shower yesterday and said "Mom, I pooped in the potty!", I was cool with that. I would just dry off, and wipe him clean. Then, he dropped the bomb "And, mom, I got poop on the couch, but I cleaned it up for you!" Um, WHAT???

I decided just to finish my shower and stay calm, no matter what (I spent two hours on Monday thoroughly cleaning our cream-colored upholstery, and left strict orders with you-know-who to wash his little dorito/cookie fingers before he even thinks about sitting on the sofa).

Needless to say, I am sure you know what I found when I went into the living room. He had gone into the kitchen once he realized the mess he had made, got a dishcloth, wet it in the sink, and wiped poo ALL OVER the couch cushion!!! UGH!!! So, there went another half hour, cleaning the cushion with soap, ammonia, and hot water.

I suppose in some odd mommy way, I am proud of him for trying to clean up, and being independent enough to go potty in the first place. He really was proud of himself for "cleaning up". But another part of me still won't sit on that side of the sofa! Gross!

Playground Trip with Daddy

Last Sunday, we took a fun trip to the playground to let Hayden have some fun and to feed the ducks. It is his favorite park, he gets to swing, play in the sand and play on the "lilypads".
He loved the ducks! They will come right up to you and take the bread, he thought that was really cool. We both loved getting to spend an afternoon with Daddy!

Hayden and His Computer

Hayden loves his new computer he got for Christmas. One day, he decided to help his bear use the mouse. He loves being just like Mommy and Daddy. If he decides he is not getting enough attention, he will tell me "Mom, quit typing your email so I can ride my gator!".

Hayden the Cupcake Man

Hayden loves to help me use the mixer..so now, we eat a lot of cupcakes and mashed potatoes! He also loves licking the beaters after we are done, which explains the second photo. I love that he is my little helper in the kitchen!
